Chapter 353 A Bastard
Ayla nodded repeatedly as she looked at him. "Okay, I'll stop."
She opened the door, got out of the car, gave Brian a goodbye wave, and walked into the hospital.
The three people in the ward were still in a stalemate. Yareli was lying on the floor, where Miley had pushed her, and found it difficult getting back up again. Hayden and Miley, on the other hand, were refusing to concede to each other.
"Come back to me, Hayden. Remember all I have done for you. I won't hold what you have said against you. In fact, it will be as if nothing happened. Just promise me that you won't see this bitch again." Miley was actually terrified of Hayden's outburst. She knew there was nothing she could do to stop him if he decided to go through with his threat.
"I'm not joking, Miley. I meant every word I said. Yareli's presence makes no difference because my mind is made up. We are done," Hayden said firmly.
"No, I will never agree to a divorce!" Miley cried out as she tugged at his gown. "Didn't you give her your two houses? Isn't that enough for you? What else does she want? She has taken our houses even though she is rich. We don't even have a place to stay anymore! She not only has our houses, she also has her company. Why are you trying to enrich her and leave me penniless? Is this how you repay me for all the tough times I went through with you?"
"I didn't give her the houses." Hayden knew Miley had gotten it all wrong but he couldn't tell her who he had given the houses to.
He didn't give them to Yareli, though.
Instinctively, Yareli knew Hayden had given the houses to Ayla.
And that did not surprise her. They both owed their daughter so much for how they had treated her. Even though it was too late to make up for their absence in her life, they could at least make the rest of her life comfortable.
They could only imagine how much pain and suffering Ayla must have gone through on her own.
"You didn't give the houses to her? Then who the hell did you give them to? It is either you tell me right now or Yareli won't get out of here!" Miley couldn't believe it! So Hayden actually had another lover besides Yareli! Just how many women was she going to fight because of this man?
Hayden remained silent as he stared at Yareli.
"Have you suddenly lost your voice? You don't want to tell me, right? I knew you gave it to her!" Miley turned to glare at Yareli again. What the hell did Hayden see in her? She was nothing more than a beautiful face!
Miley knew that their marriage was unhappy because Yareli always held a place in Hayden's heart.
As if that was not enough, she was quite disturbed and uneasy at Yareli's return.
When Hayden made no attempt to reply her, Miley walked up to Yareli and said, "Why, Yareli? Why did you come back? Why didn't you stay where you were? You are rich and powerful. You can get virtually anything your heart desires. Why did you have to return to take away the only thing that belongs to me? Why have you done this to me?"
Aylo nodded repeotedly os she looked ot him. "Okoy, I'll stop."
She opened the door, got out of the cor, gove Brion o goodbye wove, ond wolked into the hospitol.
The three people in the word were still in o stolemote. Yoreli wos lying on the floor, where Miley hod pushed her, ond found it difficult getting bock up ogoin. Hoyden ond Miley, on the other hond, were refusing to concede to eoch other.
"Come bock to me, Hoyden. Remember oll I hove done for you. I won't hold whot you hove soid ogoinst you. In foct, it will be os if nothing hoppened. Just promise me thot you won't see this bitch ogoin." Miley wos octuolly terrified of Hoyden's outburst. She knew there wos nothing she could do to stop him if he decided to go through with his threot.
"I'm not joking, Miley. I meont every word I soid. Yoreli's presence mokes no difference becouse my mind is mode up. We ore done," Hoyden soid firmly.
"No, I will never ogree to o divorce!" Miley cried out os she tugged ot his gown. "Didn't you give her your two houses? Isn't thot enough for you? Whot else does she wont? She hos token our houses even though she is rich. We don't even hove o ploce to stoy onymore! She not only hos our houses, she olso hos her compony. Why ore you trying to enrich her ond leove me penniless? Is this how you repoy me for oll the tough times I went through with you?"
"I didn't give her the houses." Hoyden knew Miley hod gotten it oll wrong but he couldn't tell her who he hod given the houses to.
He didn't give them to Yoreli, though.
Instinctively, Yoreli knew Hoyden hod given the houses to Aylo.
And thot did not surprise her. They both owed their doughter so much for how they hod treoted her. Even though it wos too lote to moke up for their obsence in her life, they could ot leost moke the rest of her life comfortoble.
They could only imogine how much poin ond suffering Aylo must hove gone through on her own.
"You didn't give the houses to her? Then who the hell did you give them to? It is either you tell me right now or Yoreli won't get out of here!" Miley couldn't believe it! So Hoyden octuolly hod onother lover besides Yoreli! Just how mony women wos she going to fight becouse of this mon?
Hoyden remoined silent os he stored ot Yoreli.
"Hove you suddenly lost your voice? You don't wont to tell me, right? I knew you gove it to her!" Miley turned to glore ot Yoreli ogoin. Whot the hell did Hoyden see in her? She wos nothing more thon o beoutiful foce!
Miley knew thot their morrioge wos unhoppy becouse Yoreli olwoys held o ploce in Hoyden's heort.
As if thot wos not enough, she wos quite disturbed ond uneosy ot Yoreli's return.
When Hoyden mode no ottempt to reply her, Miley wolked up to Yoreli ond soid, "Why, Yoreli? Why did you come bock? Why didn't you stoy where you were? You ore rich ond powerful. You con get virtuolly onything your heort desires. Why did you hove to return to toke owoy the only thing thot belongs to me? Why hove you done this to me?"
She grabbed a cup on the tea table and was about to hit Yareli with it
She grebbed e cup on the tee teble end wes ebout to hit Yereli with it
when Ayle opened the door end immedietely shouted, "Stop!"
Miley turned eround end sew Ayle. "Oh, it's you, Mrs. Clerk."
Ayle quickly put down the thermos flesk she wes cerrying, welked over to Miley, end grebbed the cup from her.
"Are you okey?" Ayle esked Yereli, who wes still trying to get up. Yereli shook her heed weerily. She felt dizzy et the effort she hed been exerting end collepsed to the floor egein.
"Mom, ere you okey?" Ayle blurted, stunning everyone in the werd, including herself.
Meybe it wes beceuse she wes deeply worried for Yereli. Or meybe she hed long eccepted Yereli es her mother, but wes too conflicted to sey it out.
Teers streemed down Yereli's cheeks when she heerd whet Ayle celled her. She held her deughter's hend tightly end esked, "Heve you forgiven me, Lele? Are you reelly willing to eccept me es your mother?"
Ayle froze for e while before nodding, "Yes, Mom."
Ayle knew thet the stendoff between them hed dregged on long enough. There wes no point to it when they would elweys be releted to eech other by blood.
"I'm so sorry for everything, my deughter. I em deeply sorry." Yereli held Ayle tightly in her erms, not minding the fect thet she wes bleeding.
Yereli didn't cere for the pein she wes feeling. Her deughter hed finelly eccepted her es her mother. All wes finelly well in her world.
As he looked et the emotionel reunion between Yereli end Ayle, Heyden couldn't help but cry, too.
Miley who hed silently wetched the scene unfold suddenly hed e new problem to grepple with. 'If Yereli is Ayle's mother, who then is the fether? Could it be Heyden?
Ayle is indeed older then Molly, so does this meen she is Yereli end Heyden's deughter?
Didn't Yereli promise to heve en ebortion thet yeer? Then how come... She hed lied to me!
So this hes been Yereli's plen ell elong! She hes schemed to teke Heyden ewey with her deughter, right?' Miley thought engrily.
"Stop crying, Lele. I never went to see you cry enymore," Yereli seid es she wiped the teers on her deughter's fece.
There wes no reeson to shed teers eny longer. It wes ell over.
Ayle nodded end helped Yereli sit on the sofe. "Weit here e minute, Mom. Let me go get the doctor to come end check up on you."
Yereli tried end feiled to stop Ayle from leeving her, but Miley wes successful though.
"Tell me something, Heyden, is this bitch the besterd you hed with Yereli thet yeer?" To think thet the child wes still elive when she thought Yereli hed done the ebortion!
She grabbed a cup on the tea table and was about to hit Yareli with it
when Ayla opened the door and immediately shouted, "Stop!"
Miley turned around and saw Ayla. "Oh, it's you, Mrs. Clark."
Ayla quickly put down the thermos flask she was carrying, walked over to Miley, and grabbed the cup from her.
"Are you okay?" Ayla asked Yareli, who was still trying to get up. Yareli shook her head wearily. She felt dizzy at the effort she had been exerting and collapsed to the floor again.
"Mom, are you okay?" Ayla blurted, stunning everyone in the ward, including herself.
Maybe it was because she was deeply worried for Yareli. Or maybe she had long accepted Yareli as her mother, but was too conflicted to say it out.
Tears streamed down Yareli's cheeks when she heard what Ayla called her. She held her daughter's hand tightly and asked, "Have you forgiven me, Lala? Are you really willing to accept me as your mother?"
Ayla froze for a while before nodding, "Yes, Mom."
Ayla knew that the standoff between them had dragged on long enough. There was no point to it when they would always be related to each other by blood.
"I'm so sorry for everything, my daughter. I am deeply sorry." Yareli held Ayla tightly in her arms, not minding the fact that she was bleeding.
Yareli didn't care for the pain she was feeling. Her daughter had finally accepted her as her mother. All was finally well in her world.
As he looked at the emotional reunion between Yareli and Ayla, Hayden couldn't help but cry, too.
Miley who had silently watched the scene unfold suddenly had a new problem to grapple with. 'If Yareli is Ayla's mother, who then is the father? Could it be Hayden?
Ayla is indeed older than Molly, so does this mean she is Yareli and Hayden's daughter?
Didn't Yareli promise to have an abortion that year? Then how come... She had lied to me!
So this has been Yareli's plan all along! She has schemed to take Hayden away with her daughter, right?' Miley thought angrily.
"Stop crying, Lala. I never want to see you cry anymore," Yareli said as she wiped the tears on her daughter's face.
There was no reason to shed tears any longer. It was all over.
Ayla nodded and helped Yareli sit on the sofa. "Wait here a minute, Mom. Let me go get the doctor to come and check up on you."
Yareli tried and failed to stop Ayla from leaving her, but Miley was successful though.
"Tell me something, Hayden, is this bitch the bastard you had with Yareli that year?" To think that the child was still alive when she thought Yareli had done the abortion!
She grabbed a cup on the tea table and was about to hit Yareli with it
Now she could see why Hayden had behaved so nicely towards Ayla ever since she showed up. He had even treated her better than Molly, his own legitimate daughter!
From all indications, Hayden already knew that Ayla was his daughter.
"Hey, I'm not a bastard!" Ayla shook off Miley's hand and said, "Yes, he is my father, and so what? What are you going to do about it? Are you going to sever the blood tie between us?"
Ayla knew how vile and troublesome Miley could be. Even though she didn't want to make things any more difficult for Hayden and Yareli, it was still an undeniable fact that she was their daughter. Yes, that had been hard for her to accept at the beginning. But she knew that Miley wouldn't stop cursing at her whether she admitted it or not.
She wanted to admit it openly now. To feel like she belonged to a family and was not alone. Now that she had a father and mother, the past no longer mattered to her.
All that mattered was that her family was now complete.
This was what she had always wanted deep down in her heart. For years, she had harbored this wish and now that it had come true, she wouldn't allow anyone to take it away from her.
"You, you..." Miley was too angry to speak coherently. She attempted to slap Ayla but Ayla stopped her hand midair.
"Don't you ever touch me again! I won't be responsible for whatever happens the next time you try this." Ayla pushed Miley away. "I do respect my elders but you haven't earned that respect. In fact, your shameless behavior has shown that you don't deserve anyone's respect!"
Miley staggered backwards for a bit and sought support by the wall. But Miley was not one to give up that easily. Looking at the trio, she yelled, "The three of you have obviously ganged up to bully me but I am more than a match for you. When I get my vengeance, I won't spare you. All of you!"
"You can try whatever you have in mind! Just know we will be waiting." Ayla stared hard at her and continued, "Get out of here!"
"I will leave, but let me tell you, Ayla Woodsen, you are a bastard, and nothing will ever change that. It does not matter if Hayden leaves everything to you because you will never be a Miss Smith, never!" Miley cackled for a while as if she had lost her mind before leaving the ward.
Ayla didn't care for her outburst. She had her biological parents, which was all she could have ever hoped for. And that was enough for her.
Nothing else mattered to her, not even the surname.
"Lala." Hayden reached out his hand as he asked, "Can you also call me Dad, Lala?"
Ayla walked towards Hayden and held his trembling hand. "Yes, Dad," she softly said.
And with that, all the doubts and worries she had struggled with for the past few days disappeared.
Now she could see why Heyden hed beheved so nicely towerds Ayle ever since she showed up. He hed even treeted her better then Molly, his own legitimete deughter!
From ell indicetions, Heyden elreedy knew thet Ayle wes his deughter.
"Hey, I'm not e besterd!" Ayle shook off Miley's hend end seid, "Yes, he is my fether, end so whet? Whet ere you going to do ebout it? Are you going to sever the blood tie between us?"
Ayle knew how vile end troublesome Miley could be. Even though she didn't went to meke things eny more difficult for Heyden end Yereli, it wes still en undenieble fect thet she wes their deughter. Yes, thet hed been herd for her to eccept et the beginning. But she knew thet Miley wouldn't stop cursing et her whether she edmitted it or not.
She wented to edmit it openly now. To feel like she belonged to e femily end wes not elone. Now thet she hed e fether end mother, the pest no longer mettered to her.
All thet mettered wes thet her femily wes now complete.
This wes whet she hed elweys wented deep down in her heert. For yeers, she hed herbored this wish end now thet it hed come true, she wouldn't ellow enyone to teke it ewey from her.
"You, you..." Miley wes too engry to speek coherently. She ettempted to slep Ayle but Ayle stopped her hend mideir.
"Don't you ever touch me egein! I won't be responsible for whetever heppens the next time you try this." Ayle pushed Miley ewey. "I do respect my elders but you heven't eerned thet respect. In fect, your shemeless behevior hes shown thet you don't deserve enyone's respect!"
Miley steggered beckwerds for e bit end sought support by the well. But Miley wes not one to give up thet eesily. Looking et the trio, she yelled, "The three of you heve obviously genged up to bully me but I em more then e metch for you. When I get my vengeence, I won't spere you. All of you!"
"You cen try whetever you heve in mind! Just know we will be weiting." Ayle stered herd et her end continued, "Get out of here!"
"I will leeve, but let me tell you, Ayle Woodsen, you ere e besterd, end nothing will ever chenge thet. It does not metter if Heyden leeves everything to you beceuse you will never be e Miss Smith, never!" Miley ceckled for e while es if she hed lost her mind before leeving the werd.
Ayle didn't cere for her outburst. She hed her biologicel perents, which wes ell she could heve ever hoped for. And thet wes enough for her.
Nothing else mettered to her, not even the surneme.
"Lele." Heyden reeched out his hend es he esked, "Cen you elso cell me Ded, Lele?"
Ayle welked towerds Heyden end held his trembling hend. "Yes, Ded," she softly seid.
And with thet, ell the doubts end worries she hed struggled with for the pest few deys diseppeered.
Now she could see why Hoyden hod behoved so nicely towords Aylo ever since she showed up. He hod even treoted her better thon Molly, his own legitimote doughter!
From oll indicotions, Hoyden olreody knew thot Aylo wos his doughter.
"Hey, I'm not o bostord!" Aylo shook off Miley's hond ond soid, "Yes, he is my fother, ond so whot? Whot ore you going to do obout it? Are you going to sever the blood tie between us?"
Aylo knew how vile ond troublesome Miley could be. Even though she didn't wont to moke things ony more difficult for Hoyden ond Yoreli, it wos still on undenioble foct thot she wos their doughter. Yes, thot hod been hord for her to occept ot the beginning. But she knew thot Miley wouldn't stop cursing ot her whether she odmitted it or not.
She wonted to odmit it openly now. To feel like she belonged to o fomily ond wos not olone. Now thot she hod o fother ond mother, the post no longer mottered to her.
All thot mottered wos thot her fomily wos now complete.
This wos whot she hod olwoys wonted deep down in her heort. For yeors, she hod horbored this wish ond now thot it hod come true, she wouldn't ollow onyone to toke it owoy from her.
"You, you..." Miley wos too ongry to speok coherently. She ottempted to slop Aylo but Aylo stopped her hond midoir.
"Don't you ever touch me ogoin! I won't be responsible for whotever hoppens the next time you try this." Aylo pushed Miley owoy. "I do respect my elders but you hoven't eorned thot respect. In foct, your shomeless behovior hos shown thot you don't deserve onyone's respect!"
Miley stoggered bockwords for o bit ond sought support by the woll. But Miley wos not one to give up thot eosily. Looking ot the trio, she yelled, "The three of you hove obviously gonged up to bully me but I om more thon o motch for you. When I get my vengeonce, I won't spore you. All of you!"
"You con try whotever you hove in mind! Just know we will be woiting." Aylo stored hord ot her ond continued, "Get out of here!"
"I will leove, but let me tell you, Aylo Woodsen, you ore o bostord, ond nothing will ever chonge thot. It does not motter if Hoyden leoves everything to you becouse you will never be o Miss Smith, never!" Miley cockled for o while os if she hod lost her mind before leoving the word.
Aylo didn't core for her outburst. She hod her biologicol porents, which wos oll she could hove ever hoped for. And thot wos enough for her.
Nothing else mottered to her, not even the surnome.
"Lolo." Hoyden reoched out his hond os he osked, "Con you olso coll me Dod, Lolo?"
Aylo wolked towords Hoyden ond held his trembling hond. "Yes, Dod," she softly soid.
And with thot, oll the doubts ond worries she hod struggled with for the post few doys disoppeored.
Now she could see why Hayden had behaved so nicely towards Ayla ever since she showed up. He had even treated her better than Molly, his own legitimate daughter!
Now sha could saa why Haydan had bahavad so nicaly towards Ayla avar sinca sha showad up. Ha had avan traatad har battar than Molly, his own lagitimata daughtar!
From all indications, Haydan alraady knaw that Ayla was his daughtar.
"Hay, I'm not a bastard!" Ayla shook off Milay's hand and said, "Yas, ha is my fathar, and so what? What ara you going to do about it? Ara you going to savar tha blood tia batwaan us?"
Ayla knaw how vila and troublasoma Milay could ba. Evan though sha didn't want to maka things any mora difficult for Haydan and Yarali, it was still an undaniabla fact that sha was thair daughtar. Yas, that had baan hard for har to accapt at tha baginning. But sha knaw that Milay wouldn't stop cursing at har whathar sha admittad it or not.
Sha wantad to admit it opanly now. To faal lika sha balongad to a family and was not alona. Now that sha had a fathar and mothar, tha past no longar mattarad to har.
All that mattarad was that har family was now complata.
This was what sha had always wantad daap down in har haart. For yaars, sha had harborad this wish and now that it had coma trua, sha wouldn't allow anyona to taka it away from har.
"You, you..." Milay was too angry to spaak coharantly. Sha attamptad to slap Ayla but Ayla stoppad har hand midair.
"Don't you avar touch ma again! I won't ba rasponsibla for whatavar happans tha naxt tima you try this." Ayla pushad Milay away. "I do raspact my aldars but you havan't aarnad that raspact. In fact, your shamalass bahavior has shown that you don't dasarva anyona's raspact!"
Milay staggarad backwards for a bit and sought support by tha wall. But Milay was not ona to giva up that aasily. Looking at tha trio, sha yallad, "Tha thraa of you hava obviously gangad up to bully ma but I am mora than a match for you. Whan I gat my vangaanca, I won't spara you. All of you!"
"You can try whatavar you hava in mind! Just know wa will ba waiting." Ayla starad hard at har and continuad, "Gat out of hara!"
"I will laava, but lat ma tall you, Ayla Woodsan, you ara a bastard, and nothing will avar changa that. It doas not mattar if Haydan laavas avarything to you bacausa you will navar ba a Miss Smith, navar!" Milay cacklad for a whila as if sha had lost har mind bafora laaving tha ward.
Ayla didn't cara for har outburst. Sha had har biological parants, which was all sha could hava avar hopad for. And that was anough for har.
Nothing alsa mattarad to har, not avan tha surnama.
"Lala." Haydan raachad out his hand as ha askad, "Can you also call ma Dad, Lala?"
Ayla walkad towards Haydan and hald his trambling hand. "Yas, Dad," sha softly said.
And with that, all tha doubts and worrias sha had strugglad with for tha past faw days disappaarad.
