Chapter 275 He Was Worried About Her
Brian sat in the car for a while before he turned the car around and left. He had nothing to love in that place.
It seemed that Ayla could live well even though she had left him. Was she really in short of money? Brian did not believe it. In fact, that was the reason he gave her a blank check. He wanted to know how broke she was that she would allow herself to become a prostitute at the night club.
After returning to her apartment, Ayla didn't dare to open the curtains. She knew that Brian was still looking at her, which left her feeling a little guilty. In fact, she was afraid that Brian might uncover her true purpose of sleeping with him.
At least, she knew that he had not noticed it until now, so she wondered if she should go to the club again.
Ayla sat on the sofa and touched her belly. Maybe, she was already pregnant.
Meanwhile, Lucas was standing in front of the French windows in his hotel room, thinking about Ayla, who seemed to have disappeared. He had sent his men to look for her, but no one knew where she was.
He knew that Ayla wouldn't leave Antawood, so he decided not to give up looking for her. All of a sudden the doorbell rang, and Lucas thought it was Haley, so he took his time to open the door. But when he opened it, he saw the woman who had slept with him that night. "You?"
"Yes, it's me! I'd like to know if you are still serious about what you said to me that day," Lana asked. It had only been two days since he had last seen her, but she seemed to be looking much worse now.

Hence, he chose to use his money to buy something he could, like the woman who was in front of him. Although he knew that her name was Lana, he still wanted her.
"Five hundred thousand dollars." Lana hesitated for a moment and added, "It's okay if you can't give me such a big amount." She did not want to force him. After all, she could go to another man and ask him the same thing, promising that she would be his woman.

Am I not as good as her?' Haley clenched her fists and watched as Lucas left with Lana.
Ayla was sitting in her apartment. She had not gone to the club for the past few days. In fact, she was still not sure if she wanted to face Brian every day. Moreover, she was also worried that she might feel reluctant to leave once she had achieved her goal.
She just would not be able to bring herself to leave him again.
At the same time, Brian was in a private room as he looked out of the window at the night sky. Ayla had not come to the club since that night. She had not cashed the check that he had given her, either. Wasn't she in short of money? Then why did she stop going to the club? Besides, why didn't she cash that check that he had given her? Brian finally understood that her purpose had not been to get money from him, but to be with him.
Brian frowned. His heart was filled with a sense of displeasure. All of a sudden, he heard a knock on the door, which brought him back to reality. "Brian..." Jaime said as he walked in.
"Where is Ayla?" Brian asked. He had asked Jaime to go to Ayla's apartment to see if she was still there.
"Brian, Miss Woodsen has been staying in her apartment all day long." Jaime also felt that it was a little strange. Ayla had put in a lot of effort to get that job at the nightclub, and now, she stopped going there. Moreover, she had not gotten out of her apartment in days, which he felt was a bit weird.
Brian took a sip of wine. He wondered if something had happened to her since she had not come out of her apartment in the past few days. At the very thought of it, anxiety filled up in his heart.
"Did something happen to her?" Brian asked with concern.
Jaime was stunned. "Brian, I don't think that's the case... How about you go and see if she's okay?"
After hesitating for a moment, Brian stood up from the sofa and walked out of the room. Jaime followed him, and they both drove to Ayla's apartment. The light in her room was on, showing through the small gap between the curtains.
Ayla was curled up on her couch, in a daze. She did not come back to her senses until she heard the doorbell. She dragged her weak body to open the door. Looking at Brian, she forced a smile, and asked, "Mr. Clark, what brings you here?"
Brian pushed the door open and walked in. After looking around her living room, he walked to the sofa, and sat down.
"Mr. Clark, what can I do for you?" Ayla felt a little guilty, looking at him. She had taken the check from him and broken the promise that she had made to him.
She could tell that Brian had come to her to settle things with her.
"Why do you think I am here?" Brian asked, gritting his teeth as he glared at her.
Was she really going to play dumb with him or did she think that he was stupid? She had been home for the past few days, but he had been worried sick about her. He was scared that something bad might have happened to her, and that was the reason he had come to find her.
How could she pretend that she didn't know why he was there?
"How... How would I know?" Ayla knew that she should not beat around the bush with him when he was angry. However, she could tell that no matter what explanation she gave him, it would make him angry anyway.
