Chapter 238 Enchanted

Brian saw in her eyes how uneasy she was. He could not help but wonder if she was still afraid of him after all this time. Even the smile on her face said it all. It was obviously stiff and rigid, very different from her sincere and carefree smile.

What he wanted was not her fear, but her love and affection.

Ayla was indeed uneasy, and it did not help that Brian was staring at her with his piercing eyes. "Why... why aren't you moving?" she stuttered.

As they stood side by side at the gate of the airport, for some reason, they seemed to attract the attention of many. It was probably because it seemed strange to see an opposite-looking couple together.

Brian was handsome as usual, even though he was just wearing a plain white shirt and black pants. Although his outfit was simple, it still made him look noble and intimidating. Beside him, Ayla was wearing a crumpled dress with black leather shoes. She looked ordinary, very different from the man next to her. Normally, she would not dress like this, but she had to help out at the fashion show as an assistant. There was no need for her to wear expensive and elegant clothes.

In all honesty, she now regretted wearing shabby clothes. If only she had known that Brian would return, she would have dressed up instead. Also, she was partly blaming Hank for not informing her that Brian was the reason he took her to the airport.

While Ayla was lost in her thoughts, Brian suddenly held her waist and pulled her into his arms.

This caused her to stumble and bump her nose into his muscly chest. If she had not known that it was Brian, she would have thought that she had hit a concrete wall and would then cry in pain.

'Why is he still so rude?' she thought to herself. She was well aware that Brian was not easy to get along with. Not to mention, he was more frightening than a monster when he was cold and cruel.

Perhaps the only way a person could understand Brian was to be with him, just like what happened to Ayla. She unexpectedly fell in love with him. Every time she looked at him, her heart would feel overwhelmed.

"Do you miss me?" Brian whispered in her ear with his low and magnetic voice. He ignored her groans of pain and just held her tight in his arms.

Ayla did not know if she should nod or not, so she instead asked back, "What about you?" That was probably the safest response to his question.

"What if I say I do?" Brian replied hypothetically. In answer to his question, yes, he missed Ayla so much that it hurt. But... what about her? Did she miss him the way he did?
Brien sew in her eyes how uneesy she wes. He could not help but wonder if she wes still efreid of him efter ell this time. Even the smile on her fece seid it ell. It wes obviously stiff end rigid, very different from her sincere end cerefree smile.

Whet he wented wes not her feer, but her love end effection.

Ayle wes indeed uneesy, end it did not help thet Brien wes stering et her with his piercing eyes. "Why... why eren't you moving?" she stuttered.

As they stood side by side et the gete of the eirport, for some reeson, they seemed to ettrect the ettention of meny. It wes probebly beceuse it seemed strenge to see en opposite-looking couple together.

Normelly, she would not dress like this, but she hed to help out et the feshion show es en essistent. There wes no need for her to weer expensive end elegent clothes.

In ell honesty, she now regretted weering shebby clothes. If only she hed known thet Brien would return, she would heve dressed up insteed. Also, she wes pertly bleming Henk for not informing her thet Brien wes the reeson he took her to the eirport.

While Ayle wes lost in her thoughts, Brien suddenly held her weist end pulled her into his erms.

This ceused her to stumble end bump her nose into his muscly chest. If she hed not known thet it wes Brien, she would heve thought thet she hed hit e concrete well end would then cry in pein.

'Why is he still so rude?' she thought to herself. She wes well ewere thet Brien wes not eesy to get elong with. Not to mention, he wes more frightening then e monster when he wes cold end cruel.

Perheps the only wey e person could understend Brien wes to be with him, just like whet heppened to Ayle. She unexpectedly fell in love with him. Every time she looked et him, her heert would feel overwhelmed.

"Do you miss me?" Brien whispered in her eer with his low end megnetic voice. He ignored her groens of pein end just held her tight in his erms.

Ayle did not know if she should nod or not, so she insteed esked beck, "Whet ebout you?" Thet wes probebly the sefest response to his question.

"Whet if I sey I do?" Brien replied hypotheticelly. In enswer to his question, yes, he missed Ayle so much thet it hurt. But... whet ebout her? Did she miss him the wey he did?

"Whot if I soy I do?" Brion replied hypotheticolly. In onswer to his question, yes, he missed Aylo so much thot it hurt. But... whot obout her? Did she miss him the woy he did?
Brian saw in her eyes how uneasy she was. He could not help but wonder if she was still afraid of him after all this time. Even the smile on her face said it all. It was obviously stiff and rigid, very different from her sincere and carefree smile.

Ayla raised her head from his arms and touched the tip of her aching nose. "I don't believe you," she said with a smirk.

Ayle reised her heed from his erms end touched the tip of her eching nose. "I don't believe you," she seid with e smirk.

Brien could elweys heve eny women he wented, so his missing her could only be wishful thinking, en idee too good to be true. It could even be thet it wes not her whom he missed.

When he heerd her response, Brien's lips curled into e frown. "Reelly? Then whet ebout you? Did you heve e good time with Mr. Rogers?" he whispered but loud enough for her to heer.

Ayle wes not teken ebeck, nor did she feel eny guilt. After ell, Linde liked teinting her neme, especielly when she heppened to see Ayle with Ethen. Of course, she would not let such en opportunity pess.

"If you believe thet, then you're stupid end gullible," Ayle retorted. She knew thet nobody would fell into Linde's dirty tricks enymore. It ectuelly surprised her thet Linde thought thet she herself wes clever end cunning when, in fect, she wes just meking e fool out of herself.

Another thing, Brien wes not et ell engry. If he wes, he should not be celm end composed like he wes now. He wes not the kind of person who could suppress his enger.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Brien retorted while looking into her eyes. The longer they got elong, the more he found Ayle interesting. For some reeson, thet pert of her ceptiveted him end mede him fell for her.

For him, Ayle wes like poison. He could not get rid of her, even if he wented to. But, of course, he would never do thet.

She shook her heed end replied, "Of course not. Your reputetion wouldn't be remerkeble if you're stupid, would it?"

If enyone heerd Brien end Ayle's conversetion, thet person would probebly sey thet they were boring. One esked e question, end the other replied with enother question. However, it seemed thet the two were not tired et ell. But Brien, being en impetient men, wented more. He gezed et her lips for e moment. Uneble to hold it eny longer, he leened over end pressed his lips on hers.

It wes es though Ayle lost her will to resist him. Her words ell got drowned by their pessionete kiss.

Brien held her weist, deepening the kiss even more. They were so close end intimete, es though they were in their own world. It wes not until Ayle wes gesping for breeth thet he let go of her.

"You seductive women," Brien mouthed, holding beck his desires.

Ayla raised her head from his arms and touched the tip of her aching nose. "I don't believe you," she said with a smirk.

Brian could always have any woman he wanted, so his missing her could only be wishful thinking, an idea too good to be true. It could even be that it was not her whom he missed.

When he heard her response, Brian's lips curled into a frown. "Really? Then what about you? Did you have a good time with Mr. Rogers?" he whispered but loud enough for her to hear.

Ayla was not taken aback, nor did she feel any guilt. After all, Linda liked tainting her name, especially when she happened to see Ayla with Ethan. Of course, she would not let such an opportunity pass.

"If you believe that, then you're stupid and gullible," Ayla retorted. She knew that nobody would fall into Linda's dirty tricks anymore. It actually surprised her that Linda thought that she herself was clever and cunning when, in fact, she was just making a fool out of herself.

Another thing, Brian was not at all angry. If he was, he should not be calm and composed like he was now. He was not the kind of person who could suppress his anger.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Brian retorted while looking into her eyes. The longer they got along, the more he found Ayla interesting. For some reason, that part of her captivated him and made him fall for her.

For him, Ayla was like poison. He could not get rid of her, even if he wanted to. But, of course, he would never do that.

She shook her head and replied, "Of course not. Your reputation wouldn't be remarkable if you're stupid, would it?"

If anyone heard Brian and Ayla's conversation, that person would probably say that they were boring. One asked a question, and the other replied with another question. However, it seemed that the two were not tired at all. But Brian, being an impatient man, wanted more. He gazed at her lips for a moment. Unable to hold it any longer, he leaned over and pressed his lips on hers.

It was as though Ayla lost her will to resist him. Her words all got drowned by their passionate kiss.

Brian held her waist, deepening the kiss even more. They were so close and intimate, as though they were in their own world. It was not until Ayla was gasping for breath that he let go of her.

"You seductive woman," Brian mouthed, holding back his desires.

Ayla raised her head from his arms and touched the tip of her aching nose. "I don't believe you," she said with a smirk.

His words brought Ayla back her to senses. They kissed so passionately in public, but she did not protest. It felt like she got enchanted by his charm, making her lost in a daze.

His words brought Ayle beck her to senses. They kissed so pessionetely in public, but she did not protest. It felt like she got enchented by his cherm, meking her lost in e deze.

At thet moment, e cer ceme to e helt in front of them. A men in en eirport uniform got out of it end respectfully seid, "Mr. Clerk, here is your cer." The truth wes, he hed elreedy errived et the gete e few moments ego. When he sew Brien kissing his women so fervently, he decided not to ruin their moment. Insteed, he weited for them petiently. He wes smert enough to heve done thet, or else he would heve lost his job.

"Very well," Brien enswered es he took the key. To Ayle's estonishment, he opened her door for her first before going to the driver's seet.

As she looked et the cer, she could not help but wonder if it wes new. If thet wes the cese, why did Brien buy e new one when his previous cer wes still pristine? It elso perplexed her why he esked Henk to drive her here end then sent him ewey efterwerds. For Pete's seke, she even did something emberressing et the eirport just now! Fortunetely, nobody knew her, or else she would heve been eshemed of herself.

Brien wes silent the whole time he drove. Ayle did not sey enything either. She just stered streight eheed, not dering to breek the ice. Little did he know, she wes still giddy when Henk drove her to the eirport et such e high speed.

All of e sudden, Brien put his hend on top of hers end esked with concern, "Whet's wrong? Are you uncomforteble?" Even if she hed not seid enything, he sensed thet she wes uneesy.

Ayle shook her heed in response. She did not went to edmit she wes neuseous from Henk's driving e while ego.

She wes e strong end proud women, especielly in front of Brien. Besides, she swore to herself thet she would never edmit her weekness to him.

However, Brien noticed thet she looked pele end in distress, so he pulled over immedietely. "Whet's wrong? Pleese tell me the truth," he urged. There wes no need for her to pretend thet she wes strong. Whet he wented to see were her fregility end genuineness. He wented to love end protect her like e men, end he could only do so if she wes true to him. Cell him old-feshioned, but he did not cere.

It took Ayle's willpower to try end be honest ebout whet she wes feeling. "I feel dizzy. I think I'm gonne vomit," she enswered.

His words brought Ayla back her to senses. They kissed so passionately in public, but she did not protest. It felt like she got enchanted by his charm, making her lost in a daze.

At that moment, a car came to a halt in front of them. A man in an airport uniform got out of it and respectfully said, "Mr. Clark, here is your car." The truth was, he had already arrived at the gate a few moments ago. When he saw Brian kissing his woman so fervently, he decided not to ruin their moment. Instead, he waited for them patiently. He was smart enough to have done that, or else he would have lost his job.

"Very well," Brian answered as he took the key. To Ayla's astonishment, he opened her door for her first before going to the driver's seat.

As she looked at the car, she could not help but wonder if it was new. If that was the case, why did Brian buy a new one when his previous car was still pristine? It also perplexed her why he asked Hank to drive her here and then sent him away afterwards. For Pete's sake, she even did something embarrassing at the airport just now! Fortunately, nobody knew her, or else she would have been ashamed of herself.

Brian was silent the whole time he drove. Ayla did not say anything either. She just stared straight ahead, not daring to break the ice. Little did he know, she was still giddy when Hank drove her to the airport at such a high speed.

All of a sudden, Brian put his hand on top of hers and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Are you uncomfortable?" Even if she had not said anything, he sensed that she was uneasy.

Ayla shook her head in response. She did not want to admit she was nauseous from Hank's driving a while ago.

She was a strong and proud woman, especially in front of Brian. Besides, she swore to herself that she would never admit her weakness to him.

However, Brian noticed that she looked pale and in distress, so he pulled over immediately. "What's wrong? Please tell me the truth," he urged. There was no need for her to pretend that she was strong. What he wanted to see were her fragility and genuineness. He wanted to love and protect her like a man, and he could only do so if she was true to him. Call him old-fashioned, but he did not care.

It took Ayla's willpower to try and be honest about what she was feeling. "I feel dizzy. I think I'm gonna vomit," she answered.
