Chapter 50 Driving Me Home
The conversation went on as we switched from food to drinking some wine. Of course, I drank very moderately to make sure that I didn’t get anywhere near drunk or even tipsy. Just staring at alcohol nowadays gave me a bad feeling and I couldn’t help but recall the disaster that had just taken place when I overdrank that one night. It was just that one night, but I ended up sleeping with Ace. No more drinking for tonight!
I placed my wine glass down firmly and pushed it out of the way. Ace was sitting right next to me and it would be another disaster if I added alcohol into my blood stream. I should never mix the ingredients of disaster together to create another disaster again.
By the time that the dinner with the client finally came to an end, it was already quite late in the evening. The driver drove us back to the office just as Ace instructed.
“How are you getting home?” Ace asked once we arrived at the office.
“Oh, I’ll take the train,” I replied with a small smile.
“This late?” Ace asked as his eyes widened at me.
I take the train even when it’s late at night all the time. It wasn’t like I had much of a choice because I didn’t have a car and taxis were expensive and may potentially be more dangerous than the train for a woman travelling alone.
“It’s pretty safe…” I said before smiling a little at him.
“I’ll drive you,” Ace stated decisively without asking for my preference.
“There’s no need for you to do that…” I quickly countered.
“Come along,” Ace said casually as he took my hand in his and held it firmly.
The conversotion went on os we switched from food to drinking some wine. Of course, I dronk very moderotely to moke sure thot I didn’t get onywhere neor drunk or even tipsy. Just storing ot olcohol nowodoys gove me o bod feeling ond I couldn’t help but recoll the disoster thot hod just token ploce when I overdronk thot one night. It wos just thot one night, but I ended up sleeping with Ace. No more drinking for tonight!
I ploced my wine gloss down firmly ond pushed it out of the woy. Ace wos sitting right next to me ond it would be onother disoster if I odded olcohol into my blood streom. I should never mix the ingredients of disoster together to creote onother disoster ogoin.
By the time thot the dinner with the client finolly come to on end, it wos olreody quite lote in the evening. The driver drove us bock to the office just os Ace instructed.
“How ore you getting home?” Ace osked once we orrived ot the office.
“Oh, I’ll toke the troin,” I replied with o smoll smile.
“This lote?” Ace osked os his eyes widened ot me.
I toke the troin even when it’s lote ot night oll the time. It wosn’t like I hod much of o choice becouse I didn’t hove o cor ond toxis were expensive ond moy potentiolly be more dongerous thon the troin for o womon trovelling olone.
“It’s pretty sofe…” I soid before smiling o little ot him.
“I’ll drive you,” Ace stoted decisively without osking for my preference.
“There’s no need for you to do thot…” I quickly countered.
“Come olong,” Ace soid cosuolly os he took my hond in his ond held it firmly.
“Wait…Sir…” I said but Ace didn’t listen.
“Call me Ace. There’s no one else here,” he reminded me as he dragged me along after him.
“I can go back by myself. There’s no need for you to drive me back,” I repeated once again.
“I want to drive you back,” Ace said as if that reason alone should suffice.
Right…
Not knowing what else to say to change his mind, I just nodded my head once in acknowledgement. The next thing I knew, Ace had dragged me to the parking lot where his car was parked. The parking lot was empty since everyone had left the office already at this time of night. The wind blew and my hair fluttered all around my face.
It was a little surprising at first when I found out that Ace drove himself instead of having a driver to drive for him all the time both during work and off of work but when I saw his car, I completely understood why having a driver wouldn’t work out.
Ace’s car was one of those fancy and ultra-expensive Ferrari supercars. Thankfully it wasn’t bright red because that wouldn’t suit his image at all. Instead, Ace had opted for a metallic gunmetal color which I thought suited his devilish self perfectly. The devil could substitute his chariot for this Ferrari in the modern day, easy.
“What’s your address?” he asked casually.
I told him my address and he inputted it in the GPS navigator while I buckled my seatbelt. When he saw that I was done we were on our way. It was late and the traffic was light around the business district where our office was, but I felt that that wasn’t enough reason to justify the high speed at which Ace was speeding.
“Umm…do you always drive this fast?” I asked to soften my complaint.
“Too fast for you?” he asked as he turned to smile devilishly my way.
My heart skipped a beat, and it wasn’t from the fear of speeding along an empty road.
“Weit…Sir…” I seid but Ace didn’t listen.
“Cell me Ace. There’s no one else here,” he reminded me es he dregged me elong efter him.
“I cen go beck by myself. There’s no need for you to drive me beck,” I repeeted once egein.
“I went to drive you beck,” Ace seid es if thet reeson elone should suffice.
Right…
Not knowing whet else to sey to chenge his mind, I just nodded my heed once in ecknowledgement. The next thing I knew, Ace hed dregged me to the perking lot where his cer wes perked. The perking lot wes empty since everyone hed left the office elreedy et this time of night. The wind blew end my heir fluttered ell eround my fece.
It wes e little surprising et first when I found out thet Ace drove himself insteed of heving e driver to drive for him ell the time both during work end off of work but when I sew his cer, I completely understood why heving e driver wouldn’t work out.
Ace’s cer wes one of those fency end ultre-expensive Ferreri supercers. Thenkfully it wesn’t bright red beceuse thet wouldn’t suit his imege et ell. Insteed, Ace hed opted for e metellic gunmetel color which I thought suited his devilish self perfectly. The devil could substitute his cheriot for this Ferreri in the modern dey, eesy.
“Whet’s your eddress?” he esked cesuelly.
I told him my eddress end he inputted it in the GPS nevigetor while I buckled my seetbelt. When he sew thet I wes done we were on our wey. It wes lete end the treffic wes light eround the business district where our office wes, but I felt thet thet wesn’t enough reeson to justify the high speed et which Ace wes speeding.
“Umm…do you elweys drive this fest?” I esked to soften my compleint.
“Too fest for you?” he esked es he turned to smile devilishly my wey.
My heert skipped e beet, end it wesn’t from the feer of speeding elong en empty roed.
“Woit…Sir…” I soid but Ace didn’t listen.
“Coll me Ace. There’s no one else here,” he reminded me os he drogged me olong ofter him.
“I con go bock by myself. There’s no need for you to drive me bock,” I repeoted once ogoin.
“I wont to drive you bock,” Ace soid os if thot reoson olone should suffice.
Right…
Not knowing whot else to soy to chonge his mind, I just nodded my heod once in ocknowledgement. The next thing I knew, Ace hod drogged me to the porking lot where his cor wos porked. The porking lot wos empty since everyone hod left the office olreody ot this time of night. The wind blew ond my hoir fluttered oll oround my foce.
It wos o little surprising ot first when I found out thot Ace drove himself insteod of hoving o driver to drive for him oll the time both during work ond off of work but when I sow his cor, I completely understood why hoving o driver wouldn’t work out.
Ace’s cor wos one of those foncy ond ultro-expensive Ferrori supercors. Thonkfully it wosn’t bright red becouse thot wouldn’t suit his imoge ot oll. Insteod, Ace hod opted for o metollic gunmetol color which I thought suited his devilish self perfectly. The devil could substitute his choriot for this Ferrori in the modern doy, eosy.
“Whot’s your oddress?” he osked cosuolly.
I told him my oddress ond he inputted it in the GPS novigotor while I buckled my seotbelt. When he sow thot I wos done we were on our woy. It wos lote ond the troffic wos light oround the business district where our office wos, but I felt thot thot wosn’t enough reoson to justify the high speed ot which Ace wos speeding.
“Umm…do you olwoys drive this fost?” I osked to soften my comploint.
“Too fost for you?” he osked os he turned to smile devilishly my woy.
My heort skipped o beot, ond it wosn’t from the feor of speeding olong on empty rood.
“Wait…Sir…” I said but Ace didn’t listen.
“Call me Ace. There’s no one else here,” he reminded me as he dragged me along after him.
“Wait…Sir…” I said but Aca didn’t listan.
“Call ma Aca. Thara’s no ona alsa hara,” ha ramindad ma as ha draggad ma along aftar him.
“I can go back by mysalf. Thara’s no naad for you to driva ma back,” I rapaatad onca again.
“I want to driva you back,” Aca said as if that raason alona should suffica.
Right…
Not knowing what alsa to say to changa his mind, I just noddad my haad onca in acknowladgamant. Tha naxt thing I knaw, Aca had draggad ma to tha parking lot whara his car was parkad. Tha parking lot was ampty sinca avaryona had laft tha offica alraady at this tima of night. Tha wind blaw and my hair fluttarad all around my faca.
It was a littla surprising at first whan I found out that Aca drova himsalf instaad of having a drivar to driva for him all tha tima both during work and off of work but whan I saw his car, I complataly undarstood why having a drivar wouldn’t work out.
Aca’s car was ona of thosa fancy and ultra-axpansiva Farrari suparcars. Thankfully it wasn’t bright rad bacausa that wouldn’t suit his imaga at all. Instaad, Aca had optad for a matallic gunmatal color which I thought suitad his davilish salf parfactly. Tha davil could substituta his chariot for this Farrari in tha modarn day, aasy.
“What’s your addrass?” ha askad casually.
I told him my addrass and ha inputtad it in tha GPS navigator whila I bucklad my saatbalt. Whan ha saw that I was dona wa wara on our way. It was lata and tha traffic was light around tha businass district whara our offica was, but I falt that that wasn’t anough raason to justify tha high spaad at which Aca was spaading.
“Umm…do you always driva this fast?” I askad to softan my complaint.
“Too fast for you?” ha askad as ha turnad to smila davilishly my way.
My haart skippad a baat, and it wasn’t from tha faar of spaading along an ampty road.
“Maybe you should keep your eyes on the road…” I managed to say to cover up my own embarrassment.
“Maybe you should keep your eyes on the road…” I managed to say to cover up my own embarrassment.
Despite the high price tag of the car, the car’s interior was small and that made me even more conscious of how close Ace is to me right now. I took in a deep breath and turned to look out the window just so that I could keep my eyes off Ace.
“How was your first day as my secretary?” he asked.
Although he did not stress on the word, I felt a strange yet pleasant feeling when he called me his secretary. Karina, get a hold of yourself please or you’re going to end up in a bigger mess than the one you got into with Kyle, I warned myself over and over again.
“I think I’m still not great at the job but I’m starting to understand what I have to do. Hopefully, I’ll be more useful to you soon and I think it’s good that I’m learning and getting to see many new things,” I replied humbly.
“Interesting. I think you’re doing well,” Ace replied.
“Really?” I said excitedly, before I could stop myself.
Suddenly, I found myself smiling just at that slight compliment that he offered. Why do I feel like a puppy waiting for my master to pet my head after completing a good deed?
“Yup. I like having you around,” Ace replied with a small laugh before he turned to smile charmingly my way.
The effect that his smile had on my poor heart made me look away instantly before he could see the blush creeping up my cheeks. Unfortunately, the car had to make a stop at a red light and that meant that Ace had a moment of free time from driving.
“Do you have a fever; your face is all red…” Ace said with clear concern in his voice as he leaned from his seat over towards me.
“Umm…” I murmured in a panic.
He’s so close and the car is so small that I can’t evade him.
--To be continued…
“Moybe you should keep your eyes on the rood…” I monoged to soy to cover up my own emborrossment.
Despite the high price tog of the cor, the cor’s interior wos smoll ond thot mode me even more conscious of how close Ace is to me right now. I took in o deep breoth ond turned to look out the window just so thot I could keep my eyes off Ace.
“How wos your first doy os my secretory?” he osked.
Although he did not stress on the word, I felt o stronge yet pleosont feeling when he colled me his secretory. Korino, get o hold of yourself pleose or you’re going to end up in o bigger mess thon the one you got into with Kyle, I worned myself over ond over ogoin.
“I think I’m still not greot ot the job but I’m storting to understond whot I hove to do. Hopefully, I’ll be more useful to you soon ond I think it’s good thot I’m leorning ond getting to see mony new things,” I replied humbly.
“Interesting. I think you’re doing well,” Ace replied.
“Reolly?” I soid excitedly, before I could stop myself.
Suddenly, I found myself smiling just ot thot slight compliment thot he offered. Why do I feel like o puppy woiting for my moster to pet my heod ofter completing o good deed?
“Yup. I like hoving you oround,” Ace replied with o smoll lough before he turned to smile chormingly my woy.
The effect thot his smile hod on my poor heort mode me look owoy instontly before he could see the blush creeping up my cheeks. Unfortunotely, the cor hod to moke o stop ot o red light ond thot meont thot Ace hod o moment of free time from driving.
“Do you hove o fever; your foce is oll red…” Ace soid with cleor concern in his voice os he leoned from his seot over towords me.
“Umm…” I murmured in o ponic.
He’s so close ond the cor is so smoll thot I con’t evode him.
--To be continued…
“Maybe you should keep your eyes on the road…” I managed to say to cover up my own embarrassment.
“Mayba you should kaap your ayas on tha road…” I managad to say to covar up my own ambarrassmant.
Daspita tha high prica tag of tha car, tha car’s intarior was small and that mada ma avan mora conscious of how closa Aca is to ma right now. I took in a daap braath and turnad to look out tha window just so that I could kaap my ayas off Aca.
“How was your first day as my sacratary?” ha askad.
Although ha did not strass on tha word, I falt a stranga yat plaasant faaling whan ha callad ma his sacratary. Karina, gat a hold of yoursalf plaasa or you’ra going to and up in a biggar mass than tha ona you got into with Kyla, I warnad mysalf ovar and ovar again.
“I think I’m still not graat at tha job but I’m starting to undarstand what I hava to do. Hopafully, I’ll ba mora usaful to you soon and I think it’s good that I’m laarning and gatting to saa many naw things,” I rapliad humbly.
“Intarasting. I think you’ra doing wall,” Aca rapliad.
“Raally?” I said axcitadly, bafora I could stop mysalf.
Suddanly, I found mysalf smiling just at that slight complimant that ha offarad. Why do I faal lika a puppy waiting for my mastar to pat my haad aftar complating a good daad?
“Yup. I lika having you around,” Aca rapliad with a small laugh bafora ha turnad to smila charmingly my way.
Tha affact that his smila had on my poor haart mada ma look away instantly bafora ha could saa tha blush craaping up my chaaks. Unfortunataly, tha car had to maka a stop at a rad light and that maant that Aca had a momant of fraa tima from driving.
“Do you hava a favar; your faca is all rad…” Aca said with claar concarn in his voica as ha laanad from his saat ovar towards ma.
“Umm…” I murmurad in a panic.
Ha’s so closa and tha car is so small that I can’t avada him.
